This course expands on the learner’s knowledge to enhance comprehension and application of the nursing process, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based care of adult and older adult patients with complex medical-surgical conditions highlighting integration of nursing and related sciences to identify and prioritize health concerns through detailed assessment of subjective and objective data. Students will refine the development of evidence-based nursing care plans that ensure continuity of care through effective communication, delegation, and collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team. The concepts of clinical judgment, compassionate care, communication, evidence-based practice, social determinants of health, diversity, equity, and inclusion are emphasized. Prerequisites: None
